ABOUT THE BENEFICIARY

Founded in 2002, Power Unit Youth Organization (PUYO) has used Night It Up! as a vehicle to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes in the community. Over $55,000 has been donated to local charities as a result. PUYO's values—Youth Development, Empowerment, and Philanthropy—are realized through organizing community events and raising money for charities and non-profits in Toronto.

Each year, PUYO—the organizers of Night It Up!—undergoes the process of beneficiary selection. Charities and non-profit organizations are invited to apply in becoming the next Official NIU! Beneficiary. The team proceeds to select a new beneficiary annually from the applicant pool based on their philanthropic missions, needs, and youth-focus in either their operation and/or their project.

To date, Night It Up! has supported charities from all over Toronto and the GTA, providing countless opportunities to those giving back to the community in extending their philanthropic missions. This year, Power Unit Youth Organization proudly supports Well of Change, the Official Beneficiary of NIU! 2010!

Well of Change

Well of Change is a not-for-profit organization that enables individuals and businesses to raise money for charity through the donation of services. They act as an online matchmaker, bringing together “sellers” of skills, services or talents with “buyers” looking to purchase those skills, services or talents. The funds raised are collected and sent to Canadian charities. The types of services available in the marketplace can range from practical and professional to fun and recreational. Users are provided with the unique opportunity to fundraise by utilizing their individual talents, be it bookkeeping, web design, dog walking or career mentorship. Well of Change is already applying this fundraising model for Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation, Children's Aid Foundation and many other Canadian charities. Visit us at www.WellofChange.org
