Do you love sports? Whether it’s hockey, basketball, volleyball or darts, the CCYAA SportsZone presented by Huawei has something for everyone.  The CCYAA SportsZone presented by Huawei @ Night It Up! is the only multi-sport event in Toronto that brings together North America’s top professional leagues showcasing their game in various interactive activities. Last year, the NBA, NHL, MLS, and ATP were well represented.  This year, the CCYAA SportsZone presented by Huawei will feature a number of new partners on top of your usual favourites.

2016 Attractions:


TFC on the Road:

A fun and interactive road show for youth and families that brings the game of soccer to communities across the GTA! Featuring over 20,000 ft² of soccer activity area, you can try your hand at the obstacle course, target practice, or just play a friendly game of 3on3 pickup inside the mini BMO Field.

Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors Mobile Fan Zone:

Come and experience the enhanced Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Fan Zone! New and improved, it’s a sure fire way to ignite excitement for the whole family. Fan memorabilia, interactive mobile locker rooms and much more!

Soft Darts:

Imagine the traditional game of darts but apply new-age technology that enables you to not only have greater interactivity with the game through an enhanced user-interface, but also online capability so that you can compete real-time with players all over the world!

2016 Events and Tournaments:


TCVA Concrete Classic:

The Concrete Classic will make its return in 2015 featuring exhibition matches for Chinese 9-man volleyball and Women’s 6s. Catch some of Canada’s top volleyballers in action!

Midnight Spike:

The 8th Annual Midnight Spike Volleyball Tournament will be played under the stars on the evenings of Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. This is a co-ed volleyball tournament packed full of fun! Tournament details can be found online at

Hard Hitting Competition:

Catch some North America’s hardest hitting volleyballers hammering the ball to see who is truly the top gun! How can we tell? Contestants will be spiking in front of the latest in radar technology. Come check it out on Saturday, July 16 at 9 PM!

1st Annual Battle of the Boroughs brought to you by Bell:

A basketball battle between the 905 and the 416.  All Star Teams representing the Korean, Chinese, South Asian and Filipino communities will compete to determine who is the king of the court in the Asian community.  The tournament will run on Friday July 15 and Saturday July 16 in the evening.  Come and cheer on your community to see who will reign supreme!

Hoops for Hunger 3on3 Shootout:

For young hoopsters aged 11-17! A great event for youths to showcase their basketball skills and compete with athletes their own age. The event will be held this year on Saturday, July 16 from 11 AM until 4 PM.

Markham’s Strongest Woman Competition:

The competition will be happening on Friday, July 15 in the evening. More details to come!

The Huawei Freestyle Dance-off:

So you think you’ve got the moves, can shimmy, shake, salsa, krump, or drop it like it’s hot? If you do, we want to see your stuff! Pre-audition will go down on Friday, July 15 at 6pm at the CCYAA main stage.

Slam Dunk Showdown:

By far one of the most popular events of the weekend, the slam dunk contest is returning on Saturday, July 16. Catch TNT Dunk King dunkers Thaine VanDyk and Sherman ‘Sher Thing’ challenge 2015 contest winner Godfrey “Got Hops” Ilevbare in this epic dual of air-space.

Body by Chosen Bar Off Freestyle Pull-Up Competition:

Want to flex your skills? Get that 24hr ghetto workout in! Come to the main court to compete in the Body By Chosen Bar-Off. You will get 30 seconds to do your thing and when it’s over, we will be giving away prizes to all our participants and a grand champion of ‘Markham’s Baddest on the Bar’ will be named. The competition will be happening on Friday, July 15.
